Police identify rider in viral wheelie stunt video

ISLAMABAD: Police have identified a motorcyclist seen performing a dangerous one-wheel stunt inside a private housing society in the federal capital after footage of the act spread widely on social media.

The video shows the rider travelling on one wheel for a long stretch of a busy road while a girl sits on the motorcycle’s front mudguard, above the front wheel. She is seen holding the handlebars with both hands during the stunt, while other motorcyclists appear to be watching and regular traffic continues to move along the road.

The footage also shows the girl making gestures with one hand while seated on the motorcycle. Despite CCTV cameras being installed across the housing society, the rider had not been arrested at the time. The girl seen in the video had also not been taken into custody.

SHO Lohi Bher said the motorcycle’s registration number had been traced and the rider had been fully identified, but added that he was not currently in the city.
