Teenage girl allegedly raped by relative in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: Police have registered a case after a 14-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by her close relative in the Mandra area, while a separate operation led to the recovery of a 15-year-old Hindu girl within 24 hours of her reported abduction in Murree on Tuesday.

A complaint filed with police stated that a Mandra resident said his youngest daughter had been living with her grandmother, where his brother-in-law also resided. He alleged that the man had been abusing the girl for the past three months and that she had become pregnant. He said the girl later informed her stepmother, after which the case was lodged. The suspect had not been arrested at the time of the report.

In the second case, police recovered a 15-year-old girl from Haripur after she was reported abducted during a visit to Murree. Police said special teams were formed under the supervision of senior officers soon after the incident was reported.

Murree DPO said the girl was recovered safely by the Murree Police Station using all available resources, including CCTV footage, geo-fencing and human intelligence. He added that the rescued girl would be produced before a court in line with legal requirements.
