Four die in two roof collapse incidents in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: Four people, including a woman and a child, died and two others were injured in two separate roof collapse incidents on Wednesday, according to a report.

In Chak 381 GB on Jaranwala Road, the roof of a structure under construction came down after a wall reportedly weakened, causing the building to collapse. One-year-old Ali Hassan, 22-year-old Sadiya Bibi and 22-year-old Rehana suffered critical injuries and later died. A man and his son were also injured in the incident.

Rescue 1122 teams pulled the victims from the rubble and shifted the injured to hospital. Police completed legal formalities before handing over the bodies to their families.

In a separate incident in Amaanat Town, Kharrianwala, the roof of a livestock shed being repaired collapsed after a girder slipped. A 60-year-old man, identified as Shahbaz, died at the scene, while Iqbal and his son Atiq were rescued and taken to hospital.
