MURREE: Health authorities in Murree have sealed multiple illegal clinics and quack medical centres during a district-wide crackdown, according to an official.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Murree Deputy District Health Officer Dr Maryam Ali Abbasi in several localities, including Ghora Gali, Mullah Bazaar, Kunda Bazaar, Manga and Jhika Gali. During inspections, health department teams found a number of unlicensed establishments providing medical services without authorisation.
Officials said the illegal clinics were sealed on the spot, while challans against those responsible have been sent to the Punjab Healthcare Commission for further legal action.
An official said monitoring against quackery had been stepped up across the district to help ensure quality healthcare services for the public. Dr Maryam Ali Abbasi said quackery remained a major challenge and a serious threat to public health, while officials warned that unqualified and unregistered people offering treatment were not only breaking the law but also putting lives at risk.
