KP players sweep titles at national junior squash championship
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa players won both the men’s and women’s titles at the All Pakistan National Junior Squash Championship 2026 in Peshawar. Adviser Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand announced cash prizes for champions and runners-up at the closing ceremony.

PESHAWAR: Players from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa secured both the men’s and women’s crowns at the All Pakistan National Junior Squash Championship 2026, with the event concluding on Friday under the auspices of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Directorate General of Sports.
The closing ceremony was attended by Adviser to the Chief Minister on Sports and Youth Affairs Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand, who handed out prizes to the winners. Also present were Director General Sports Tashfeen Haider, Director Operations Jamshed Baloch, former world No 2 Mohibullah Khan, Deputy Director Kashif Farhan, Assistant Director Ashfaq Ahmad, Senior Coach and Organising Secretary Manawar Zaman, Wazir Khan and Administrator Yousaf Afridi, along with other guests.
Women’s and men’s finals
In the women’s final, Sehrish Ali of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa defeated Mah Noor Ali 3-2 in a closely fought contest to lift the national title. Sehrish had advanced to the final after beating Punjab’s Faiqa Fida in the semi-final, while Mah Noor Ali reached the decider by overcoming Ayesha Shahid, who was also from Punjab.
The men’s title match was an all-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa affair, where Danish Sikandar beat Muhammad Fawad Khan to take the gold medal. Danish booked his place in the final by defeating Muhammad Mamoon Khan of Pakistan Air Force in the semi-final, while Muhammad Fawad Khan moved through after defeating Faizan Ali Khan of Army.
Prizes announced at closing ceremony
Speaking at the ceremony, Adviser Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand welcomed the province’s clean sweep in the championship and praised the performance of local players.
It is highly encouraging to see our players winning both titles,
he said, adding that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had long been a source of squash talent and had produced players who earned distinction for Pakistan at the international level.
Tarand also announced cash awards for the finalists, saying the champions would receive Rs100,000 each, while the runners-up would be given Rs50,000 each.
