Lahore recorded 55 suicide deaths in the first five months of 2026, according to Edhi Foundation data. The victims included 47 men and eight women, with January posting the highest monthly figure.

LAHORE: At least 55 people died by suicide in Lahore between January 1 and May 31, 2026, according to data compiled by the Edhi Foundation.
The figures show that 47 of the victims were men and eight were women, indicating that men accounted for most of the reported deaths during the five-month period.
Edhi Foundation spokesperson Younis Bhatti said January saw the highest monthly count during the period under review, with 14 suicides, including 11 men and three women. In February, 12 cases were reported, comprising 11 men and one woman.
The number fell to six in March, including five men and one woman, before rising again. April recorded 10 suicide deaths, including nine men and one woman, while May saw 13 cases, with 11 men and two women among the deceased.
