Five found dead in separate incidents across Lahore

LAHORE: At least five people were found dead in separate incidents reported from different parts of the city, according to police and rescue officials.

As per details, a 50-year-old man was found dead inside his house on Haider Road. Police said the body appeared to be around two days old and was later identified as Iqbal. After completing initial legal formalities, the body was shifted to a morgue.

In another incident in Harbanspura, a 35-year-old woman, Iffat Bibi, died after her dupatta became entangled in a motorcycle chain. The incident caused her to suffer a serious head injury. She was taken to hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Separately, a 22-year-old man was killed after being struck by a train near Hamdard Chowk in the Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate area. The deceased was identified as Tayyab, a resident of Khanqah Dogran in Sheikhupura district.

Unidentified bodies recovered

On Lytton Road, rescuers recovered the decomposed body of an unidentified man believed to be around 35 years old. Officials said the deceased appeared to be a drug addict, but his identity could not be established.

In another case, the body of an unidentified 45-year-old man was found near Singhpura Mandi in the Mughalpura area. According to initial assessments, he is believed to have died due to excessive drug use.

Police said investigations were under way to determine the cause of death in each of the cases.

The incidents were reported from multiple localities of Lahore, including Haider Road, Harbanspura, the Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate area, Lytton Road and Mughalpura. The cases involved both identified and unidentified victims, with authorities carrying out legal formalities and inquiries in each instance.

Officials said one of the deceased men found in the city had been dead for around two days before his body was discovered, while another body was recovered in a decomposed condition. In two of the incidents, initial assessments pointed to possible drug use, though police said inquiries were continuing to establish the exact causes of death.

The train accident victim was identified by police, while the woman who died in Harbanspura was reported to have suffered fatal injuries in an accident involving a motorcycle chain. Authorities have not announced any final conclusions and said the investigations remain in progress.
