Pakistan praised at global conference for role in Iran-US peace efforts

Islamabad: Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed thanked the Global Council for Tolerance & Peace for arranging a global conference in North Macedonia where Pakistan’s efforts to promote peace between Iran and the United States were commended.

The conference was attended by the speakers of Tanzania and Malta along with parliamentary figures, political leaders, think tank representatives and opinion leaders from 22 countries across Europe, Asia, Africa and South America.

During the event, Mushahid met North Macedonian President Gordana Davkova, who appreciated Pakistan’s key role in hosting peace talks between Iran and the US and wished success for the process. At the conference, Ambassador Ahmed bin Mohammed al-Jarwan of the UAE, a former speaker of the Arab Parliament, also praised Pakistan’s peace initiatives aimed at ending conflict in the Gulf and its hosting of Iran-US talks.

In his address, Mushahid said the world was passing through a historic transition shaped by turbulence and transformation, adding that the Iran war had hastened what he described as the unravelling of the Western-led international order.
