Sindh announces four-day Eid ul Adha holidays

Government of Sindh has announced a separate four-day public holiday schedule for Eid ul Adha from May 27 to May 30, 2026.

According to a notification issued by the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department, all provincial government offices, autonomous bodies, semi-autonomous organisations, corporations and local councils under the administrative control of the Sindh government will remain closed during the holidays.

The announcement differs from the federal government’s earlier notification, which declared public holidays from May 26 to May 28 for Eid ul Adha across the country.

Pakistan will observe Eid ul Adha on May 27 following confirmation of the Zilhaj moon sighting by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee earlier this month.

The extended holiday schedule is expected to increase travel activity and Eid preparations across Sindh, particularly in Karachi and other major cities.
