Yousuf directs timely transport arrangements for Hajj pilgrims

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousuf has instructed the Pakistan Haj Mission to make sure Pakistani pilgrims are transported to the holy sites of Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifah on time during Hajj.

According to the details provided, the minister directed the mission to put in place transport arrangements that would ensure smooth and timely movement of pilgrims to the Mashair. He also ordered the deployment of Murshids, or guides, on pilgrims’ buses, saying those assigned should be familiar with the routes leading to Mina as well as the locations of the tents in Arafat and Muzdalifah.

The minister said pilgrims should be informed well before departure about the mode of transport they would use for travel to the holy sites. He specifically instructed that they be told in advance whether their movement would take place by bus or by train.

He further said that the ritual animal slaughter would be completed on time through Saudi Arabia’s Adahi Project.

Guidance and transport planning

The directions focus on both transport management and on-ground guidance for Pakistani pilgrims during one of the most logistically demanding stages of Hajj. By asking for Murshids with knowledge of the routes and tent locations, the minister emphasized the need for practical assistance for pilgrims travelling between the key holy sites.

The instructions also underline the importance of advance communication with pilgrims regarding their travel arrangements. The minister’s direction that pilgrims be told beforehand whether they would travel by bus or train is aimed at ensuring clarity in movement plans to Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifah.

Adahi Project arrangements

In addition to transport matters, Sardar Muhammad Yousuf said the process of ritual animal slaughter would be carried out in a timely manner under Saudi Arabia’s Adahi Project.

The latest directives were issued as part of arrangements concerning Pakistani pilgrims undertaking Hajj and their movement to the Mashair, where large-scale coordination is required for transport, guidance and related services.

The minister’s instructions place responsibility on the Pakistan Haj Mission to ensure that these arrangements are implemented effectively for Pakistani pilgrims during their stay in the holy sites.
