GWADAR: At least three people were killed and five others injured after unidentified armed men opened fire on a vehicle in the Gwarago area of Panjgur district on Friday, police said.
According to police, the attack occurred early in the morning in Katagri, near Fateh Ali, about 40 kilometres from Panjgur city. The assailants were reportedly lying in wait when they intercepted the vehicle and opened indiscriminate fire with automatic weapons.
Police said three people were killed at the scene, while five others sustained injuries in the attack. The deceased were identified as Juma, son of Sadiq; Malik, son of Ghulam Qadir; and Zubair, son of Noora.
The injured were identified as Naseeb, Mayar, Chakar, Saboor and Shaukat. They were moved to nearby health facilities, where they received medical treatment.
Investigation underway
Police said no group had claimed responsibility for the attack by the time the report was filed. An investigation into the incident is underway.
