Overseas Pakistanis hold Marka-e-Haq event in Dallas

DALLAS: A large gathering of overseas Pakistanis took part in an event in Dallas titled MARKA-E-HAQ PAKISTAN – Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, Battle of Truth Victory Day to mark the first anniversary of Pakistan’s victory against India in the May 5, 2025 war.

The event drew a sizeable turnout from the Pakistani community and was hosted by community leader Abdul Hafeez Khan. The venue resonated with slogans of Pakistan Zindabad and Pakistan Army Zindabad.

The chief guests were Sindh Governor Nehal Hashmi and Overseas Pakistani Foundation Chairman Syed Qamar Raza. Vice Consul General from Houston Usher Shahzad, along with community leaders, journalists and members of the business community, also attended.

Speakers highlight national unity and overseas role

Addressing the gathering, Hashmi said Pakistan had given a strong response to recent aggression and had shown its military capability to the world. He said a nation’s real strength lay in its ideology and called on young people to play their part in shaping Pakistan’s future, especially in the economic sphere.

Referring to the country’s nuclear programme, the Sindh governor said Pakistan became invincible after acquiring nuclear capability. He also commended the Pakistan Air Force and recalled the legacy of MM Alam, saying the celebrated pilot had shot down five Indian aircraft in record time during the 1965 war.

In what was described as an emotional speech, Hashmi said Pakistan’s future leadership would emerge from among the country’s youth.

Speaking on the occasion, Raza said overseas Pakistanis were Pakistan’s economic strength. He said remittances had reached $38.3 billion last year and were expected to cross $41 billion this year. He urged expatriates to send money through legal channels, saying stronger remittance inflows could help the country reduce its dependence on the International Monetary Fund.

Journalist says world acknowledging Pakistan’s success

Senior journalist Sohail Warraich also addressed the event and said the world was openly recognising Pakistan’s success.

The programme concluded with special prayers for Pakistan’s security, stability and prosperity.

The event was held as members of the Pakistani diaspora gathered to express solidarity and mark what organisers described as Victory Day linked to Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos and Marka-e-Haq Pakistan.

Participants included community representatives and prominent attendees from diplomatic, media and business circles, reflecting broad engagement from the Pakistani community in the United States at the Dallas event.
