DERA MURAD JAMALI: At least three people were killed and 11 others, including a woman, were injured in a string of separate incidents reported from Dera Murad Jamali, Notal, Tambo and Jhal Magsi, according to police and local authorities.

In Dera Murad Jamali’s main market, armed men riding motorcycles opened fire on people sitting at a shop near DC Chowk. The shooting left Mubarak Ali dead, while his companion Nabi Bakhsh and a passerby, Noor Hassan, sustained serious injuries. The attack caused panic in the area, and the assailants escaped while firing into the air.

Police said they reached the scene soon after the incident and that after initial medical treatment, the injured were referred to Larkana due to their critical condition, adding that authorities had linked the attack to an ongoing land dispute between the Kahiri and Sawand tribes in village Paleji in the Chhattar area. Police also said checkpoints had been established and a search operation launched.

In another incident within the limits of Notal Police Station, armed men opened fire in Quba Sher Khan Goth Qasim Khoso over what police described as a family dispute. Qurban Ali, son of Muhammad Ismail Deerkhani, was killed at the scene. Police shifted the body to the Teaching Hospital after completing legal formalities and later handed it over to the heirs.

Separately, in the Tambo area under Manjhoshori Police Station, a tractor-trolley fell into a ditch near Bari Shaakh Goth Ghaus Bakhsh Gola. The accident killed Abdul Khaliq and injured the driver. Both were taken to BHU Manjhoshori.

In another firing incident within Saddar Police Station limits, Syed Irshad Shah, son of Syed Kabir Shah, was injured.

At the Dera Murad Jamali livestock market, a dispute over an unripe watermelon turned violent when Umeed Ali Domki allegedly stabbed vendor Qaisar Shah, leaving him seriously wounded before fleeing the scene.

Meanwhile, in Sharqi Solangi Mohalla, a domestic dispute between two groups from the Sheikh community escalated into an armed clash. Four people — Abdur Razzaq, Shah Nawaz, Riyaz Ahmed and Fayaz Ahmed Sheikh — were injured and taken to hospital for treatment.

In Jhal Magsi, within the jurisdiction of Sadar Police Station, armed men allegedly opened fire in Goth Mahi Faqir over accusations of so-called honour, injuring a man and a woman. Police said the suspects escaped and further investigation was under way.

Police response

Authorities said legal formalities were completed in the relevant cases, while investigations and search operations were continuing in the affected areas.
