KOT ADDU: A man and his two daughters were killed in a road accident in Kot Addu after a fast-moving truck hit their motorcycle, according to police.

Police said Momin Shah was taking his daughters to college when the truck struck their motorbike. The collision caused the motorcycle to go under the truck, and all three died at the scene.

The two girls were identified as 16-year-old Moazzama and 17-year-old Wajeeha. Police said Moazzama was a first-year student, while Wajeeha was studying in the second year.

The deaths left the area in mourning, with the incident casting a pall over the locality.

Separately, Dera Ghazi Khan Regional Police Officer Azhar Ikram sought a detailed report on the incident from the District Police Officer of Kot Addu.

Victims identified

Authorities identified the deceased father as Momin Shah. His daughters, Moazzama and Wajeeha, were both college students and were travelling with him at the time of the accident.

According to the details shared by police, the family was on its way to the girls’ college when the speeding truck hit their motorcycle. The impact proved fatal, and no one survived the crash.

Police response

Following the incident, senior police authorities took notice. RPO Dera Ghazi Khan Azhar Ikram called for a detailed report from the Kot Addu DPO to ascertain the circumstances of the accident.

The incident adds to concerns over road safety, particularly involving heavy vehicles and motorcycles on busy roads in southern Punjab. In this case, police have so far confirmed the identities of the victims and the basic sequence of events leading to the fatal crash.

The accident site and the deaths of the father and his daughters drew attention in the area, where residents were left shocked by the loss of three members of the same family in a single incident.
