KARACHI: Islamabad United won the toss and chose to field against Hyderabad Kingsmen in the 36th match of Pakistan Super League season 11 at the National Bank Stadium on Friday.
The fixture marks only the second meeting between the two sides, with the Kingsmen holding a 1-0 advantage after winning their previous encounter by six wickets. The newcomers enter the match on a four-game winning streak following an earlier run of four consecutive losses.
Islamabad United, led by Shadab Khan, come into the game with three wins in their last five completed matches and currently sit third on the points table with nine points from eight games. A win in this match would secure their place in the playoffs with one fixture remaining.
Hyderabad Kingsmen, captained by Marnus Labuschagne, are placed fourth and need victories in both of their remaining matches to qualify for the next stage.
