Alizeh Shah alleges inappropriate behaviour by co-actor on set

ISLAMABAD: Actor Alizeh Shah has spoken publicly about what she described as inappropriate conduct by a fellow actor during a recent project, drawing attention to concerns about professional boundaries on drama sets.

In a series of posts on Instagram, Shah said she had been working with a new co-actor but chose not to identify him. She said the first few days of filming passed in a friendly atmosphere, with casual and light-hearted interaction among cast members.

According to Shah, the situation later changed when remarks made by the co-actor became offensive. She said this led her to step back and keep her dealings with him strictly professional.

Describing one incident during filming, Shah alleged that while she was performing a scene and delivering her lines, the co-actor placed his foot on top of hers forcefully and did not remove it. "I said one dialogue, then another. On the third dialogue, he still didn't move," she said, adding that she eventually had to pull her foot away and stop in the middle of the performance.

Shah also referred to another scene that, according to her, required her to tap the co-actor on the waist. She alleged that he discouraged her from doing so. Referring to the episode, she suggested that the actor was aware of his actions and linked the behaviour to her earlier decision to stop socialising with him after feeling uneasy over his comments.

Her account has prompted discussion online about workplace conduct in the entertainment industry, particularly in relation to younger or emerging performers.

Shah did not name the project or the actor she was referring to in her statements. No response from the accused co-actor had emerged in the report.
