LAHOR: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz welcomed the ceasefire between the United States and Iran, lauding Pakistan’s pivotal role in facilitating peace and congratulating Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their “sincere and unparalleled efforts” toward global stability, according to a DGPR handout.
“Allah Almighty SWT has chosen Pakistan for the establishment of peace, and no amount of gratitude would be sufficient,” the Chief Minister said in a statement issued from the Chief Minister’s Office.

She emphasized that Pakistan’s historic and sincere efforts for regional and global peace have “made the impossible possible.” CM Maryam Nawaz added that the leadership of the United States, Iran, and all Islamic countries also deserve congratulations for bringing relief and stability to billions.
Highlighting the role of national leadership, she said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir have “saved the world from a third world war,” asserting that Pakistan, emerging victorious from the “Battle for Truth,” has become a central force for global peace.
She expressed hope that Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic efforts would lead to lasting peace and that conflicts would be resolved through dialogue, adding that the names of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir “will be written in golden words in the history of global peace.”
CM Commends Leadership on Iran–US Ceasefire
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz paid rich tribute to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his “commendable leadership” in achieving the Iran–US ceasefire. She also lauded Field Marshal Asim Munir for his significant role in facilitating the breakthrough.
The CM remarked that Pakistan’s contribution in averting a major global conflict would be remembered in history with honor and recognition. She said that Pakistan’s success in promoting peace and preventing large-scale devastation has already become a proud chapter in global history, calling the international acknowledgment of Pakistan’s role in regional stability “a great diplomatic achievement.”
She further noted that Pakistan has demonstrated exceptional diplomatic balance in global and regional affairs, earning widespread appreciation. The Chief Minister credited the combined efforts of political and military leadership for safeguarding the region from potential destruction.
Expressing optimism, Maryam Nawaz stated that ongoing peace negotiations within Pakistan will also reach a successful conclusion, emphasizing that Pakistan’s contributions to global peace and the preservation of civilizations “will always be remembered.”
CM Expresses Condolences over Deaths of MPA and PA Speaker’s Sister
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed profound grief over the demise of Member of Provincial Assembly Sardar Ali Hussain Baloch. She conveyed her deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family, praying for the departed soul and for strength and fortitude for the family to bear the loss.
The CM also expressed sorrow over the passing of the sister of Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, extending heartfelt condolences and prayers for the forgiveness of the deceased and patience for the grieving family.
