PTI raises alarm over Bushra Bibi’s health, urges immediate hospital care
PTI has expressed alarm over Bushra Bibi's health, demanding her immediate transfer to a hospital for treatment amid reports of serious eye complications.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has voiced serious concern over reports regarding the health of Bushra Bibi, calling for her immediate transfer to a hospital for proper diagnosis and treatment.
The concern follows the circulation of a document dated March 28, which outlines her reported medical condition. According to the document, she was examined by a doctor from Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences and has been experiencing blurred vision and a black spot in her right eye for nearly two weeks. Additional symptoms reportedly include headaches and flashes in the affected eye.
While the authenticity of the document remains unverified, PTI leaders say the information aligns with what they have been hearing from jail sources. The party’s Central Information Secretary, Sheikh Waqas Akram, claimed the reports suggest she is being denied essential medical care.
He described the situation as deeply troubling, arguing that delays in addressing eye-related complications could lead to serious consequences. He further alleged that the lack of timely treatment reflects neglect and political victimisation.
PTI has demanded that Bushra Bibi be moved to a well-equipped medical facility without delay and that her medical reports be made public to ensure transparency. The party also warned that authorities would be held accountable if her condition worsens.
In a separate statement, PTI said she may be suffering from posterior vitreous detachment (PVD), along with myopia and astigmatism—conditions that require proper medical evaluation and monitoring.
The issue comes amid ongoing concerns about the health of Imran Khan, who has also been undergoing treatment for an eye condition. His family has been pushing for access to private medical care, while the government maintains that appropriate treatment is being provided.
The situation has intensified political tensions, with both sides trading accusations over transparency and responsibility in handling the medical care of detainees.
