Rs4 million stolen from Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials’ residence in Gujrat
Thieves stole Rs4 million from the rented residence of two Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials in Gujrat. The cash was taken from three locations in the house while the officials were at work. Police have registered a case and are investigating.

GUJRAT: Thieves made off with Rs4 million in cash from the rented residence of two Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) officials in Gujrat, according to a police complaint filed on Thursday.
Aamir Shaukat, a MoFA official from Beharipur, Daska, reported to the Civil Lines police that he and his colleague, Irfan Ahmed, had been living in a rented house on Umar Street near the Jattuwakal locality along GT Road. The incident occurred while both officials were at work.
Upon returning home, Shaukat and Ahmed discovered that the door and windows of their house were open and the premises had been ransacked. They found that a total of Rs4 million in cash, which had been hidden in three separate locations within the house, had been stolen.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the breakdown of the stolen cash is as follows: Rs2.5 million was taken from a wardrobe, Rs700,000 was stolen from underneath the mattress in Shaukat’s room, and Rs861,000 was missing from the cupboard belonging to Irfan Ahmed.
Shaukat, who is a BPS-04 official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated in his complaint that the cash was kept at the residence with authorization from senior MoFA officials. Police have registered a case against unidentified suspects and have launched an investigation into the theft.
Official sources confirmed that Shaukat is authorized by senior MoFA officials to handle such amounts. The authorities are continuing their efforts to identify and apprehend those responsible for the theft.
