KABUL — Pakistan’s armed forces carried out a series of overnight airstrikes on Friday targeting terrorist camps and Afghan Taliban infrastructure inside Afghanistan, according to security sources.
Security sources confirmed that the operations were conducted as part of the ongoing Operation Ghazab Lil Haq. The strikes reportedly destroyed the headquarters of the Afghan Taliban’s 313 Corps in Kabul, along with associated infrastructure and an ammunition depot.
In Kandahar province, the Tarawo terrorist training camp and an oil storage facility were targeted and destroyed, security sources stated. Additionally, Pakistani forces struck the Sher-e-Nau terrorist camp located in Afghanistan’s Paktia province.
According to the same security sources, Pakistani forces also intercepted and shot down three drones belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij using electronic warfare capabilities. Fitna al-Khawarij is the term used by the state for militants associated with the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
The strikes mark a significant escalation in Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to target cross-border terrorist threats and dismantle militant infrastructure operating from Afghan territory. The security sources did not provide information regarding casualties or further operational details.
The operation comes amid heightened tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan over the presence of TTP militants and other armed groups along the shared border. Pakistani officials have repeatedly expressed concerns about cross-border attacks and the use of Afghan soil by militants targeting Pakistan.
No official statement from the Afghan Taliban government regarding the reported strikes was mentioned in the information provided by security sources.
