Woman seeks protection from abusive cop husband

DAULATPUR: Pyari Sheikh, accompanied by her son and mother, approached the Daulatpur Press Club on Sunday, pleading for protection from her allegedly abusive husband, Police Constable Ali Nawaz Sheikh. In a press conference, Pyari accused her husband of subjecting her to daily physical abuse based on baseless allegations, stating that he regularly beats her and threatens to kill her in order to remarry.

She further claimed that her husband’s maternal uncles—Akbar, Gul, and Zameer Sheikh—frequently visited their home to assist in assaulting and harassing her. Pyari, visibly distressed, also expressed her fear that her husband intended to take away their son, adding, "They want to snatch my son away from me." Despite her suffering, she expressed a desire to remain with her husband for the sake of her child, but feared for her life.
