Woman, daughter killed in separate honour, enmity-linked incidents in Sindh
HYDERABAD: A woman and her daughter were killed while their husbands sustained injuries in an armed attack in the Veeran Forest area of Jhirk, Thatta district. The victims, identified as 40-year-old Razia Khoso and 22-year-old Azizan Khoso, were shot dead in what police suspect may be a case linked to personal enmity.
Police said they had launched an investigation, but no FIR had been registered by Saturday evening. Residents alleged that individuals from Larkana, Sukkur, and Hyderabad divisions had occupied the forest land, either illegally or through questionable lease arrangements.
In a separate case in Kotri town, Jamshoro district, a married woman was allegedly strangled to death by her relatives in what appears to be an honour-related killing. According to DSP Shahnawaz Jokhio and SHO Khair Muhammad Mallah, 20-year-old Zulekhan, wife of Nadeem Burdi, was killed and buried in Jeay Shah graveyard near Syedabad.
The police have registered an FIR on behalf of the state, naming her two brothers, an uncle, a cousin, and seven others. Authorities have also filed a court application seeking exhumation of her body for investigation.
