LARKANA: Nine people were killed in three separate incidents linked to so-called honour-related disputes in Larkana and Shikarpur districts on Monday, according to police.
In the first case, gunmen attacked a house in Sindh Green Colony in Larkana, where a woman and three of her children were killed while they were asleep. Two other family members, including a child, were injured in the attack. Police identified the dead as Zareena, 55, Zameer, 36, Roshan, 28, and Saima.
Police said the attack was tied to a long-running dispute between two Mugheri families and was allegedly connected to an earlier honour killing case involving the death of Asghar Mugheri two years ago.
In another incident in Larkana, a man killed his daughter and her husband near Atta Turk Tower in the jurisdiction of Allahabad police station. Police said the suspect, Parehal Unar, later surrendered. The victims, identified as 30-year-old Firdous and Javed Korkani, had reportedly married without the consent of the woman’s family.
In Shikarpur district, an honour-related dispute between two groups of the Bakhrani caste turned deadly in Shaheedabad. Agha and Bakhrani were killed at the scene, while Marvi later died of her injuries at a hospital. First information reports in the three cases had not been registered till the time of reporting.
