Pakistan’s JF-17 squad joins Indus Shield Alpha air drills in Azerbaijan

RAWALPINDI: A contingent of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has arrived in Azerbaijan to participate in the bilateral air exercise Indus Shield Alpha.

The PAF team is equipped with state-of-the-art JF-17 Thunder Block-III fighter jets and highly trained personnel.

Demonstrating advanced capabilities, PAF aircraft completed a nonstop flight from Pakistan to Azerbaijan, during which successful aerial refueling was carried out midair.

The in-flight refueling was executed with precision by the PAF’s IL-78 aerial tanker, showcasing the long-range operational capability of Pakistan’s air fleet.

According to the PAF spokesperson, the primary objective of Indus Shield Alpha is to enhance interoperability and joint operational readiness between the air forces of Pakistan and Azerbaijan.

The spokesperson said the exercise is focused on modern air combat tactics and joint mission planning, reflecting the evolving nature of aerial warfare. PAF’s participation in this joint exercise highlights its commitment to regional stability and international defense cooperation.

The Pakistan Air Force reiterated its resolve to remain fully prepared and aligned with modern warfare demands.
