DARGAI: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Forests, Environment, Wildlife and Climate Change, Pir Musavir Khan, has said that the ‘Pak, Saaf-o-Shafaf’ campaign is a revolutionary and first-of-its-kind flagship programme of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, aimed at improving rural sanitation across the province.
Speaking at a ceremony in Tehsil Dargai, where appointment letters, uniforms and loader rickshaws were distributed among sanitation staff, Pir Musavir said the Rs11 billion programme reflects the provincial government’s commitment to implementing the vision of PTI founder Imran Khan through practical measures to address public needs and improve service delivery.
The event was attended by Chairman Tehsil Dargai Pir Islam Ghazi, Assistant Commissioner Shehbaz Khan, officials from the Local Government Department, elected representatives, and a large number of residents.
Pir Musavir said sanitation workers have been recruited in every Village Council through a transparent, draw-based process. To ensure accountability and proper use of funds, monitoring committees have been established and a digital dashboard created for real-time oversight.
He said the initiative will not only raise hygiene and cleanliness standards in rural communities but also generate local employment opportunities, contributing to public welfare and community development.
“The programme aims to ensure a clean, green and healthy Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through public participation and transparency,” Pir Musavir concluded.
