CM Maryam announces field hospitals, Clinic-on-Wheels programme to be expanded to across Punjab

  • Punjab CM visits field hospital near Murree, inquires about operational aspects of the hospital from patients

MURREE/LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif paid a surprise visit to a field hospital that was set up near Mughalabad on the Expressway during her return from Murree on Wednesday, according to a DGPR handout.

According to the officials, she inspected healthcare facilities being provided to the public. She also inquired about the provision of free medical tests and medicines.

The chief minister obtained details about the working of the field hospital from doctors and medical staff.

During her visit, she inquired about the operational aspects of the hospital and spoke directly with patients and their families, who shared their experiences and feedback regarding the healthcare services being provided. Patients and citizens expressed appreciation for the initiative, especially its accessibility for the elderly and underserved populations.

Speaking on the occasion, Maryam Nawaz said the government aims to bring healthcare services directly to people’s doorsteps. “By the grace of Allah, more than 12.5 million patients have benefited so far from field hospitals and Clinic-on-Wheels,” she said.

The chief minister also announced plans to expand the scope of both the field hospitals and the Clinic-on-Wheels program across the province. The chief minister expressed that serving humanity has always been the manifesto of the Pakistan Muslim League (N). She said that access to healthcare is a basic right of every citizen, and we will continue to fulfill our responsibilities in this regard.

‘Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar’ Program in Full Swing

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister’s ‘Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar’ project is swiftly moving towards successful completion and an important milestone has been achieved in the history of Punjab. According to the announcement of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the target of attaining more than 50,000 houses has been achieved in June under the ‘Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar’ project. For the first time in the history of Punjab, a national record of constructing more than 50,000 houses in a span of a few months has been set.

By June 2025, more than 51,911 loans had been issued for building houses under the ‘Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar’ project. Under this project, easy loans worth Rs. 57.9 billion have been given in a short period of time. Under this project, the construction of 5,293 houses has been completed, which have been inhabited by the residents, while the construction process of 41,324 houses is underway rapidly.

The residents have termed the ‘Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar’ project as a great blessing. For the first time, applicants have been given the unique facility of applying for loans online from their homes under the ‘Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar’ project. Loans are being issued without visiting offices for the above-said project. The Chief Minister said, “Issuing loans for building houses without any recommendation is an exemplary precedent in the history of Punjab and Pakistan. The aim behind launching the ‘Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar’ project is to create ease and convenience for the people.”
