Armed bandits abduct Health Department ambulance crew in Jacobabad

JACOBABAD: Armed bandits have abducted two individuals, including an ambulance driver from the Health Department, in the Jacobabad district of Sindh, it was reported on Sunday.

According to police sources, the People’s Primary Healthcare Initiative (PPHI) ambulance driver, Anwar Ali Kalhoro, along with another individual named Ali Nawaz Suhag, was abducted near the Taju Dero area.

The ambulance, belonging to the Mohammadpur Centre of PPHI, had earlier transported a patient to Jacobabad. On its return journey, the vehicle was intercepted, and the two men were taken by force in the Taju Dero locality.

Police sources confirmed that heavily armed dacoits were involved in the abduction. In response, Jacobabad Police have launched a large-scale operation in the Jahan Wah area, deploying a heavy contingent to recover the abducted individuals.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety of healthcare workers and staff in the region, prompting calls for increased security measures to protect those serving in remote areas.
