Khairpur police rescue two hostages; Karachi girl found in Balochistan

KHAIRPUR/QILLA ABDULLAH: The police claimed to have recovered kidnapped trader and his driver from bandits while the Qilla Abdullah levies arrested a bandit and recovered a 13-year-old girl abducted from Karachi Sunday, the police confirmed.

According to SSP Khairpur Zubair Nazeer Shaikh, a gang of bandits had earlier in the day abducted a trader Ganhwar Khan Jatoi and his driver at Mehboob Kalhoro Road.

The SSP said that the dacoits kidnapped trader and his driver from Mehboob Kalhoro road and left the car of hostages near a police post in the area.

“A heavy contingent of police was sent to the katcha area, which in an operation recovered hostages from the gang of bandits,” SSP Khairpur said.

Katcha area stretches over hundreds of thousands of acres land from Kashmore to Dadu on the banks of the Indus River in Sindh and Punjab’s southern belt. The outlaws and wanted involved in tribal disputes used to escape to the area while fleeing the law.

In Qila Abdullah, the levies claimed to have arrested a bandit and recovered a 13-year-old abducted girl in an operation in Qila Abdullah area on Sunday.

On the directives of higher authorities, a levies team Qila Abdullah under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Qila Abdullah, Shehak Hayat Baloch, arrested the alleged  kidnapper namely Mula Zareef in an operation conducted in Qila Abdullah and recovered the girl kidnapped from Subzi Mundi area of Karachi on June 27, 2025.

The kidnapper was later handed over to Karachi police for further investigation.
