ISLAMABAD: Following the landmark meeting between US President Donald Trump and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at the White House, Pakistan reiterated its stance against a military solution to the Israel-Iran conflict, advocating for diplomacy as the preferred approach.

During his weekly briefing, Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan confirmed that Pakistan’s concerns regarding the escalating tensions in the Middle East were communicated to President Trump. Both sides emphasized the importance of resolving the conflict through dialogue, with Pakistan condemning Israel’s actions in Iran as violations of international law.

President Trump later acknowledged that Pakistan possessed unique insights into Iran, following a briefing on the likely consequences of the conflict.

In addition to discussing the Middle East tensions, the two leaders addressed broader topics, including trade, economic development, and counter-terrorism cooperation. President Trump expressed strong interest in fostering a mutually beneficial trade partnership with Pakistan, focusing on shared strategic goals.

Field Marshal Munir extended an invitation to President Trump to visit Pakistan, further solidifying the warmth of bilateral relations. The meeting, which extended beyond its scheduled time, underscores the growing collaboration between the two nations, centered on peace, stability, and mutual interests.
