Trump pushes Pakistan, Arab states to recognise Israel as part of Iran peace push
US President Donald Trump urged Pakistan and several Arab nations to formally recognise Israel, linking the move to broader efforts to end the Iran conflict and expand the Abraham Accords framework.

US President Donald Trump has urged Pakistan and several Arab nations to formally recognise Israel as part of broader efforts to end the Iran conflict and expand the Abraham Accords framework.
According to reports, Trump discussed the proposal during conversations with leaders from multiple Muslim-majority countries, including Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, Egypt and Jordan.
The US president argued that wider recognition of Israel would represent a major diplomatic breakthrough in the Middle East and help strengthen long-term regional stability following any agreement with Iran.
Trump reportedly described participation in the Abraham Accords as an important next step after a ceasefire arrangement involving Iran, while also suggesting that broader regional cooperation could reshape security and economic ties in the region.
The Abraham Accords were originally signed in 2020 and established diplomatic relations between Israel and countries including the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.
Pakistan has not officially commented on the latest proposal, though the issue remains politically sensitive because of Islamabad’s longstanding position linking recognition of Israel to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
The development comes as negotiations involving Iran continue, with Pakistan playing a mediation role in recent regional talks.
