JEDDAH: A ceremony marking Thanksgiving Day and Takbeer was held at the Pakistani Consulate in Jeddah on Sunday, where rich tributes were paid to the unflinching resolve of the Pakistani nation and the courage of the country’s armed forces.
Organised at the Pakistan International School, Al-Rehab, the event drew members of the Pakistani community, students, and local media representatives.
Addressing the gathering, Consul General Khalid Majeed lauded the exemplary professionalism displayed by Pakistan’s armed forces during Operation Bunyanun Marsoos and reiterated Pakistan’s enduring commitment to peace, unity, and international diplomacy. He stressed the importance of countering disinformation and called upon the global community to support a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute as per UN Security Council resolutions.
The ceremony also featured cultural and patriotic performances. Saudi-born Pakistani singer Nayeem Sindhi captivated the audience with a musical tribute, while students of the Pakistan International School presented emotive speeches and tableaus celebrating the sacrifices of the armed forces and the unity of the nation.
Community representative Masood Puri, speaking on behalf of the diaspora, honoured the nation’s resilience and paid homage to the martyrs who laid down their lives for Pakistan’s sovereignty.
The event concluded with special prayers for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks and for the continued security and prosperity of both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
