Minority leader ‘killed’ in axe attack

HYDERABAD: Soomro Bheel, a primary school teacher and leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party’s minority wing, was attacked and killed with an axe in village Jinhan Junejo, near Naukot in Mirpurkhas district on Thursday.

Bheel was initially taken to the taluka hospital in Naukot before being referred to Civil Hospital Mithi in Tharparkar, but he succumbed to his injuries on the way. His son, Sooraj Bheel, reported that his father was returning home when unknown assailants attacked him with axes. A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed at Wajono police station.
