Nawaz Sharif extends London stay for medical reasons amid political discussions

ISLAMABAD: Nawaz Sharif, the three-time former Prime Minister of Pakistan and President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), has prolonged his stay in London due to ongoing health concerns. Sources close to the matter revealed that Sharif is undergoing regular medical evaluations by international specialists, prompting him to reschedule his return to Pakistan.

The former premier arrived in London earlier this month from Belarus for what was initially planned as a two-week visit. However, following medical assessments, his healthcare providers advised an extended stay for further treatment and monitoring.

In addition to his medical needs, Sharif is reportedly engaging in political consultations with PML-N leadership. The party’s UK chapter is planning to organize a workers’ convention in his honor. On April 12, Sharif was welcomed at Luton Airport by PML-N UK leaders, including Ahsan Dar.

This development comes as Sharif continues to play a pivotal role in Pakistan’s political landscape. His extended stay in London underscores the intersection of his health considerations with his active participation in political affairs.
