Engaging education

Nowadays, school students are under constant pressure to perform well academically, especially because of increased curricular duress after Covid-19. During the pandemic, the schedule changed significantly and there was limited time to complete a reduced syllabus. But even now, schools are focusing on completing the syllabus by hook or by crook, classwork is being sent through WhatsApp groups, and students are mostly preferring tuitions over going to school. Some students are even saying that they have been unable to prepare for their board exams because of school workload. This has led to students skipping school to ease their burden and stress.

Teachers and school managements must create a more engaging and supporting learning environment that does not simply do its job but does it well. Overburdening students with coursework only leads to their stress, instead, interactive and enjoyable teaching methods should be used to encourage students to actively participate in their education.
