Aftab Iqbal responds to Sohail Ahmed’s criticism and allegations with scathing rebuttal

Popular television host and journalist Aftab Iqbal has responded to Sohail Ahmed’s recent statement made on Ahmed Ali Butt’s podcast.

During the interview, Sohail Ahmed strongly criticized Aftab Iqbal, citing their collaboration on ‘Hasb-e-Haal’. He mentioned Aftab’s alleged lack of respect for colleagues, critiqued his conduct and attire, and advised him to adopt a more humble approach.

In his video message, Aftab Iqbal acknowledged his past reticence on camera and his background as a columnist before ‘Hasb-e-Haal’. He praised Sohail’s acting skills, highlighting the importance of a good writer and director for an actor’s success, and expressed respect for Sohail’s talent amidst a perceived scarcity of greatness in the country.

Iqbal revealed he had suggested bringing more comedians to the show, which Sohail initially resisted but eventually implemented. He also addressed Sohail’s criticism of his clothing, explaining its role in providing comedic content.

Overall, Aftab Iqbal’s response aimed to address Sohail Ahmed’s critiques while emphasizing their collaborative efforts on ‘Hasb-e-Haal’ and mutual respect for each other’s contributions.

Here is Iqbal’s full response:

Sohail Ahmed recently shared candid insights regarding TV host Aftab Iqbal, describing him as arrogant and lacking in respect for others.

In a recent interview, he acknowledged their longstanding partnership, referring to the TV host as “like a brother” and expressing his respect. However, the conversation took a turn when discussing the reasons behind their separation.

Sohail Ahmed countered Aftab Iqbal’s assertions of giving him greater recognition, stating that his comedic talent was well-established before their collaboration.

One contentious issue was Iqbal’s ranking of comedians, particularly placing the late Amanullah ahead of Ahmed. Ahmed challenged this notion, arguing that comedians should focus on generating laughter rather than assigning rankings.

He took particular offense at Aftab Iqbal’s alleged arrogance and self-importance, questioning Iqbal’s authority to rank comedians and suggesting such pronouncements were disrespectful and undermined the collaborative success of their show.
