CTD inspector arrested for burning stepmom to death in Lahore

LAHORE: Police arrested the husband and the stepson of a woman for allegedly burning her to death in Lahore, police said on Wednesday.

Police registered an FIR against the woman’s husband Raja Nazir and her stepson who is a CTD inspector on the complaint of the deceased woman’s brother.

According to the FIR, Tabassum contracted a second marriage with accused Raja Nazir. The accused used to torture her. On the day of the incident, he with the help of woman’s stepson, who worked as a CTD inspector, set her on fire and burned her to death.

Police said they arrested the pair on suspicion as the statements of the father and son negated the facts.

The pair told the police that Tabassum was burnt when she went into the kitchen to make tea and the gas stove was exploded.

But when police reached the venue, they found that a room of the house was on fire, not the kitchen.

Finding that the father and son were lying, police arrested them and started an investigation.
