Three brothers held for street crime, robberies

KARACHI: Timuriya police arrested three brothers involved in street crimes after an encounter on Sunday.

SHO Taimuria Zarulfaqar Haider said that the three arrested brothers were identified as Syed Arsalan, Syed Salman and Syed Shah Mir, sons of Syed Furqan Hussain. They are residents of Manghopir and are involved in several looting incidents in District Central.

3 TT pistols, 3 mobile phones, laptops and 2 stolen motorcycles were recovered from the possession of the accused, which were stolen from Temuria and Hydari police station limits.

SHO Haider said that the arrested accused are habitual criminals who have been arrested and jailed before. Cases have been registered against them in Gulistan Johar, Shariah Faisal, Gulshan Iqbal, Azizabad, Liaquatabad, Temuria, Rizvia, New Karachi Industrial Area, In CTD, New Karachi and Soldier Bazar, under other provisions including recovery of illegal weapons, robbery and theft.

The arrest of the three brothers is a major success for the Karachi police in their fight against street crime. It is hoped that the arrest will deter other criminals from engaging in such activities.
