CTD arrests five terrorists from three Punjab cities

LAHORE: The Counter Terrorism Department Punjab has caused a major dent to the terrorists network by arresting five militants from three cities on Saturday.

According to CTD officials, five terrorists belonging to a banned organization were arrested from Lahore, Multan and Gujranwala.

Four of the arrested militants were identified as Abdul Samad, Sohail, Ali Rahman and Noor Abbas.

The CTD officials further said that they had also seized explosive material, weapons and hand-grenades from terrorists’ possession.

The CTD officials lodged four cases against the detained terrorists, who were shifted to an unknown place for further interrogation.

The CTD officials informed the media that during the current week security agencies had carried out 452 combing operations during which 208 suspects were taken into custody and 138 cases were registered. They also quizzed 22,800 suspects during these operations.
