ISLAMABAD: A book launching and documentary release ceremony was held here in connection with the International Mountain Day celebrations. Mr. Muhammad Abduhu, the famous writer recently published his book titled “Pakistan Trekking Guide”.
The author explained about the silent features of the book which includes information about the trekking, passes, lakes, glaciers of Northern Pakistan. The relevant preparation of treks, equipment required, health challenges, local culture and allied information has been included in the book to provide guidance to the tourists visiting mountain areas of Pakistan.
Mr. Abu Zafar Sadiq, President, Alpine Club of Pakistan, Mr. Zofran Ellahi, PSAI, Mr. Munwar Iqbal, Hafiz Basharat, Abdul Wahid, Mr. AkramAwan and FaiziAwan reviewed and other mountain lovers reviewed the book. They all appreciated the efforts made by Mr. Muhammad Abduhu for promotion of trekking.
The documentary “The Confidence” on Gondogoro Peak highlighting the achievement of MasterWise Eliezer was also released and screened at this occasion. Mr. Ashir Ch. his son Aliezer and Ms. Hania climbed this peak last year in Autumn. This documentary reflects the high courage and confidence of a child who climbed this peak despite many odds and challenges. It serves as a source of motivation for the children to attract them towards this novel and challenging sport.
The documentary was also commented by different mountaineers and trekkers and appreciated the achievements of the child.
Abu Zafar Sadiq deemed it a tribute of Women as Hania’s achievement is aligned with the theme of International Mountain Day i.e. Women Move Mountains. He observed that summit by Hania without having experience of climbing seems mountain moved by her. The support of Ashir Ch. as father to encourage his son Alizer is also appreciated by the participants.
Aftab ur Rehman Rana, Managing Director, Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation was the Chief Guest at this occasion. He also appreciated the efforts of Mr. Muhmmad Abduhu for writing the book. He also praised the achievement of Wise Aliezer, Hania and Ashir Ch. The Chief Guest presented shields to Mr. Muhammad Abduhu and Aliezer, hania an Ashir Ch. as a token of appreciation. The books of the author were presented to the mountaineers as a Chief Guest.
The key stakeholders of mountain sports and tourism Alpine Club of Pakistan, its constituents, Punjab Alpine Association, Islamabad Alpine Association; Private School Association, Tour operators and others attended this event. The ceremony ended with the vote of thanks by Abu Zafar Sadiq.
