21 provided government jobs on deceased employees quota

LAHORE: On the orders of Punjab Ombudsman retired Maj. Azam Suleman Khan, 21 applicants from across the province have been provided with permanent employment in various government departments under Rule 17-A of the Punjab Civil Servants (Appointment and Conditions of Employment) Rules, 1974.

In a statement released on Sunday, a spokesman for the agency explained that Shan Haq from Lahore, Muhammad Talha Sadiq from Sahiwal, Muhammad Saad Usman from Gujranwala, Haris Waseem Khan and Ahmad Bilal Khan from Mianwali have been recruited as junior clerks in the education department in BPS-11 after the involvement of the ombudsman office.

Similarly, the spokesman added that Abdul Aleem from Nankana Sahib and Faryal Hanif from Jhang have been appointed to the livestock department. Muhammad Ali Raza from Multan secured a job in Punjab Workers Welfare Board while Abdul Rehman from Faisalabad has been hired by the metropolitan corporation.

Meanwhile, the irrigation department has given employment to Uzma Zia from Lahore while Naeem Insaf Khan from Bhakkar has been posted in the higher education department, the spokesman noted.

He further stated that applicants Saleh Muhammad of Mianwali and Abdul Aziz from Dera Ghazi Khan have been recruited as a watchman and naib qasid in the education department and Sajjad Hussain from Bhakkar has been posted as a cattle attendant in the livestock department.

Alongside this, the irrigation department has appointed Zain ur-Rehman from Gujranwala as a helper and Rizwan Ahmad from Mianwali as a signaller.

The spokesman further said that Shahzad Ali from Sheikhupura is recruited as a baildaar in the irrigation department; Shahzad Qaiser from Sahiwal a tube well operator in grade three, and Muhammad Irfan Ashraf from Faisalabad and Shahzad Abbas from Chiniot have been given jobs of naib qasid in the education department and the municipal committee respectively.

The executive engineer highway division Mianwali recruited plaintiff Muhammad Waseem Shahzad as darogha in BPS-2 after the departmental appeal to the governor against the order of the Office of the Ombudsman Punjab was dismissed.

The complainants have thanked the Office of the Ombudsman Punjab for protecting their legal rights.
