Awan demands commission to probe foreign conspiracy

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Babar Awan on Monday noted National Security Committee (NSC) — the highest forum for coordination on security issues — agreed that a conspiracy was hatched against his party’s government and demanded a commission to probe the diplomatic cable which contained the threat.

Talking to the press in Islamabad, Awan said his party cannot accept an “imported government” under any circumstances and no MP who has resigned from National Assembly will return to the Parliament.

He further said PTI has received new evidence of security threats to former prime minister Imran Khan. PTI chairman wanted to save the country while the incumbent government will land Pakistan in a Sri Lanka-like troubled situation, he claimed.

He asked the government to withdraw militancy cases against lawyers and that the prime minister should apologise to the nation.
