Punjab advocate general steps down

LAHORE: Punjab Advocate General Ahmad Awais has decided to step down from his position, it was learnt on Sunday.

He will tender his resignation to Governor Omar Sarfraz Cheema.

It merits a mention here that Awais remained in the office of Punjab’s principal law officer from October 2018 to April 11, 2019.

He had resigned from his post after the Lahore High Court (LHC) summoned the Punjab chief minister in the 2014 Model Town massacre.

The Punjab government once again appointed him as advocate general in July 2020.
