There is no denying the fact that the prevalent education system in Pakistan is at the heart of multiple challenges facing the country currently on many fronts. Being in constant grip of these challenges is symptomatic of the failure of the education system. Socially, the education system has not only failed to transform the burgeoning population into a social asset for the country but has also unleashed waves of polarization and divisiveness, rupturing the social fabric. Moreover, the multiple education systems of the country are also barricading gigantic hurdles in the way of accomplishing sky of success. Students fall prey to various types of learnings that cripples their minds to acquire something that will help them in the next level of life.
Moreover, the poor quality of education especially manifests itself in the form of the absence of critical thinking among students. It is an open secret that the prevalent education system has been designed in such a way that it lacks the capability to inculcate the values of logical reasoning and analytical skills among the students, which not only gives a severe blow to creativity but also aggravates the students’ chances to realize their true potential. Talking more clearly, the system of education in Pakistan is still archaic. The syllabus is not rejuvenated for a long time. Cramming is rampant in every educational institution of Pakistan. Therefore, it can be said that the education system sector is in severe disrepair, which is in dire need of reforms. The gravity of the situation can be gauged from the fact that the country is faced with all sorts of socio-economic and political problems, the underlying cause of which is, undoubtedly, the failing education system. Briefly, the current government needs to pay attention to the system of education to embellish and to add beauty to the image of the country nationally and globally by producing intellectual minds.
