Indian troops continue killing spree in IIOJK

ISLAMABAD: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian troops continue killing spree in the territory to suppress the Kashmiris’ ongoing freedom struggle.

A report released by Kashmir Media Service, today, the troops martyred five more youth during cordon and search operations in Pombai and Gopalpora areas of Kulgam district, yesterday, taking the number of the slain youth in the territory to nine in the last four days. The troops brutally killed four civilians in a fake encounter in Hyderpora area of Srinagar on Monday night.

The report said the troops have martyred 15 innocent Kashmiris in the current month. It said over 95,900 killings in IIOJK since January 1989 till date are a testimony to the Indian brutalities in the occupied territory.

The report said, killing Kashmiris in fake encounters is part of Modi-led fascist Indian government’s nefarious game plan to eliminate the indigenous population in IIOJK. It said, Kashmiris have been facing the brunt of brutal Indian suppression for the past over 7 decades. Killing of innocent civilians in fake encounters is the decades-old war tactic being used by Indian troops in IIOJK, it added.

The report lamented that Indian troops had been committing heinous crimes against humanity in the territory. It said, even dead bodies of those killed in fake encounters are not being handed over to the families for proper burial and Kashmiri martyrs are quietly buried in Indian army-run graveyards at far-flung places in IIOJK.

It said, denial of dead bodies of martyrs to their families for the last rites is a serious violation of international human rights laws and forced burial of Kashmiri martyrs is a crime against humanity.

The report maintained that India had been playing the game of death and destruction in IIOJK since 1947 and killing of civilians by Indian troops during staged encounters in the territory is a big challenge for the world conscience. It said, it is high time for global community to come for rescuing the Kashmiris from Indian tyranny and hold Modi-led Indian regime accountable for its crimes against the Kashmiris.

The report said, Kashmiris are being punished for demanding their inalienable right to self-determination guaranteed to them by the United Nations, and India would not succeed to shake their spirit for freedom by resorting to wanton killings in IIOJK. Kashmiris’ sacrifices will never go waste as their freedom from Indian yoke is the writing on the wall and one day they would definitely get rid of Indian subjugation, the report concluded.
