Post-exam analysis will ensure transparency in MDCAT: Dr Faisal

ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Dr Faisal Sultan on Monday said that post-exam analysis of Medical and Dental College Admission Test will ensure transparency in the examination system.

In a statement, Dr Faisal said that the step was taken to achieve the confidence of parents and students in the examination system, which is already decided by Pakistan Medical Commission.

He said that this third-party review will be on a scientific basis as Quaid-e-Azam University will conduct the post-exam analysis.

He said that the analysts will be fully empowered to freely analyse the MDCAT exam.

He added marks will be given on all unclear or doubtful questions while marks will also be given to students in case of more than one true answer in multiple-choice.

Medical students across Islamabad have been protesting near the D-Chowk for over 10 days. They want the PMC to re-conduct MDCAT on a single day across the country.

The protesters claim that the data of students was stolen after the website of the private company holding the MDCAT was hacked. “The questions in the tests were completely off the syllabus,” one of the students said. “Most of the students had bad internet connection because of which they couldn’t complete the exam.”
