Three secure bail extension in TikTok actor harassment

LAHORE: A district and sessions court in Lahore on Thursday extended the interim bail of three suspects in a case pertaining to the harassment of a female TikTok actor and her partner who were purportedly assaulted by a crowd at Greater Iqbal Park on the eve of Independence Day.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Saeed granted Shehroze Saeed, Akhtar Ali and Ilyas extension until October 6.

The counsel for the suspects stated his clients wished to join the investigation but feared their arrest.

Meanwhile, another suspect, Usman Aziz Shaikh, withdrew his bail after police declared him innocent.

Last month, police opened cases against hundreds of unidentified men after Ayesha Akram was assaulted and purportedly groped by a crowd of more than 400 men in the park as she made a TikTok video.

The shocking assault was captured on several videos, which went viral and showed a mob descend on the woman.

Akram registered a case against 300 to 400 unidentified persons with Lahore police, according to the case report.
