Two soldiers martyred in attack from across Afghan border

RAWALPINDI: As many as two soldiers of Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom on Sunday after terrorists from inside Afghanistan opened fire across the international border on a military post in Bajaur district.

The Pakistan Army troops responded in a befitting manner, said an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) news release.

“As per intelligence reports, due to fire of Pakistan troops, two to three terrorists were killed and three to four others sustained injuries,” it said.

The soldiers martyred in exchange of fire were identified as Sepoy Jamal (resident of Mardan, 28 ) and Sepoy Ayaz (resident of Chitral, 21 ).

The ISPR release further said that Pakistan strongly condemns the use of Afghan soil by terrorists for activities against Pakistan and expects that existing and future setup in Afghanistan would not allow such activities against Pakistan.
