The police stopped a terrorist attack on an intelligence agency office in Charsadda, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Wednesday.
Unknown gunmen opened fire on the district commissioner office, resulting in one officer being injured and succumbing to his wounds, District Police Officer (DPO) Charsadda Muhammad Shoaib Khan revealed.
The police returned fire, which resulted in the death of one of the assailants. The police were also able to recover weapons from the terrorist.
The security forces were had been alerted beforehand about a potential attack in the area, the DPO said.
The area has been cordoned off by the police and a search investigation is underway.
