KARACHI: Additional Station House Officer (SHO) of police was martyred in an exchange of fire with robbers in the metropolis on Friday.
Robbers attempted to loot a citizen returning after the withdrawal of cash from a bank at Khalid Bin Walid Road. Ferozabad police chased the robbers after learning of the incident.
Police across the district were altered by wireless message and Gulistan-e-Johar police started to snap checking after installing a picket near Safari Park.
The police signalled a suspected vehicle to stop, but the robbers instead opened fire at the police, resulting in Sub-Inspector Rahim Khan’s death.
The attackers fled the scene of the crime. A contingent of police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation for the culprits.
Inspector General Police (IGP) Sindh taking notice of martyrdom of SI Rahim Khan has sought report of the incident.
