Pharmaceutical representatives meet with Punjab govt to negotiate

Representatives of the pharmaceutical companies called on Provincial Ministers Rana Sanaullah, Mian Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman, Khwaja Salman Rafiq and Khwaja Imran Nazir on Tuesday.

Both the parties presented their points of views with regard to the Amended Drug Act 2017. The ministers made it clear that the government would not compromise regarding the health of the people and the provision of quality medicines to them.

Provincial Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah said that necessary rules and regulations should be determined by constituting a representative committee so that progress could be made on review of the drug act 2017.

The pharmaceutical companies’ representatives said that their organisations were with the Punjab government in the campaign for the elimination of fake drugs and added that spurious drug manufacturers would not be tolerated on their platform.
